This small country was still under Soviet pressure when a group of people managed to set up one of the first game development studios in the world, and western computer stores started clearing room on their shelves for Hungarian products.

Her visionary and maddening project nearly tore her family apart, but now her 70,000 VHS tapes are being digitized and they'll be searchable online.

The ROM Hack, although not perfect by any means, is an interesting insight on how it correlates to his later, deeply influential and succesful game titles like Undertale and Deltarune. Even awkward, amateur works are worthwhile to examine deeply, and in fact can be even more interesting because of their flaws.
