The plot of Golden King is not currently known, which is partially because the film's poster describes the plot only as "Hot stunt action! Heart-wrenching plot!! Innovative ideas! Fantastic story!!" with not even a basic synopsis of the plot included.

Jonathan Joestar is an aristocratic boy whose life is suddenly turned upside down by a mysterious new boy who arrives, Dio Brando. Dio has a connection to his father, and over time, a rivalry forms as Dio becomes obsessed with a mysterious, ancient, and mystical stone mask that Jonathan's father keeps. This film has not been publicly released outside of its original limited run in Japanese theaters and is considered virtually lost.
In 2017, a short anime film called Hypersonic Music Club was produced in Japan. It was directed and written by Osamu Kobayashi, a veteran of the industry who passed away in April 2021. For various reasons, this short anime was never released. It was made public on August 1, 2023.

It was a joint effort between the Computer Graphics Lab and the 2D animation studio, which was originally founded for the production of NYIT's 1975 film Tubby the Tuba. Animators a part of that team include John Gentilella and Francis Glebas. Mouse's Ear was mostly animated on paper before the drawings were scanned and lined, colored, and composited digitally. The film was originally presented to Vestron Video in 1985 or 1986 for possible distribution, however it was rejected and never saw a public release or screening.
